Counted Cross Stitch
This is a sample of some
of the beautiful patterns that are available for counted cross stitch. This pattern
incorporates a number of unique stitches which add to the overall look. The text
consists of regular cross stitch which is long stitched over in a lighter color to
produce the banded appearance of the text (click the image
to see the affect at actual size). The cross consists of a light gray floss which
is stitched over three squares, producing the zig-zag appearance. The flowers consist
of 2-3 shades of floss each, which is further highlighted by another darker backstitch.
In addition, French knots added depth to the center of the flowers and the berries.
