"Where every member is a minister/missionary..."

Sierra Madre Congregational Church is a non-denominational Christian church which holds to the belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Pastors and Sunday School teachers teach from this perspective, desiring that all people come to faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Their motto is "Where every member is a minister, missionary." The church officially supports about 70 missionaries worldwide.

The church is located in Sierra Madre, California (near Pasadena):

In addition to regular church services, Sierra Madre Congregational Church offers a large number of Sunday School classes for every age group and interest. Programs for youth include Sunday school classes with instruction beginning at age 3. Choir classes are available for ages 4-5 (Little Lambs), ages 6-8 (Cherubs), ages 9-11 (King's Kids), junior and senior high (Young Artists Group) and adults. The choirs, in addition to regular performance during services, produce a number of musicals throughout the year, including a multi-church Christmas musical (all the choirs), Easter musicals (adult and Young Artists Group choirs) and children's outreach musical (put on by Little Lambs, Cherubs, King's Kids choirs). In addition, Sierra Madre Congregational Church offers Vacation Bible School in July, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops.

Sunday School classes for adults are diverse in content and instruction. Dr. Hugh Ross (president of Reasons to Believe and Pastor of Apologetics at Sierra Madre Congregational Church) teaches the popular Paradoxes class, which examines technical aspects of theology and science. Another popular Sunday School class is Home Builders, which emphasizes practical Bible study and fellowship for growing families. A large "Internationals" Sunday School class, focuses on the needs of a diverse group of individuals who are new to this country. Other Sunday School classes focus on the needs of different age groups, such as college, middle age, and elderly members. In addition, there is a midweek morning women's Bible study and men's and women's Bible studies on Wednesday nights. Most Sunday School classes also host small group meetings in local homes for additional Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.

In addition, numerous 6-12 week courses are held during the Fall, Winter and Spring at SMCC, including the Discovery Bible Study Course (at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays).
