Felgar, Prodigal Son

I'll say it for you. The guy's just a punk. Although a young man probably 15-20, he thinks he has all the answers so he refuses to listen. His education comes from Limbaugh/Hannity. His world experience is limited to what he learns from high school. If you read what he wrote over in the "pope/gay" thread, you'll see that it's even more clear.

He doesn't listen to facts or intentional twist facts to suit his own purposes. He is immune to logic. He is condescending, sanctimonious, hypocritical, and just a general waste of time. If this sounds harsh it is, but I stand by it. IMHO, he has no credibility.

One young man is one thing. But what bothers me even more is that there are churches out there that teach people crap like this.

Hey, there is nothing wrong with Limbaugh/Hannity. I doubt the crazy things came from them-they don't usually sound like babbling lunatics (though Hannity goes at it with Colmes, so it's right vs left at times).

Octoseat, if you're going to believe something, believe it for the right reasons. Reasons that have some substance.

An atheist can't find God for the same reason a criminal can't find a police officer.

You need to start asking out girls so that you can get used to the rejections.

But the guiding legal basis for our country is the Constitution, not the Bible. Both documents allow the existence of the death penalty. :)

Getting personal?
Did the anti-gay marriage posts strike a nerve?

If you don't like the fact that most debates don't end like you want them to, then don't watch or listen to them.

You're a sad little man. According to your bleeding heart vision, you must perceive anyone who is against criminals and who supports victims' rights as anti-agape. Time to renew your ACLU membership.

You should take your own advice. What I love about this country is that the majority of Protestant pastors back my pro-death penalty stance. I also love the fact that anti-death penalty Christians, such as yourself, are criticized by conservatives for your leftist interpretations.

That doesn't mean God Himself made the electric chair. God made the tree of good and evil, and He also made Lucifer who fell from heaven, but He didn't make Adam and Eve sin, and if He did, God would be a sadistic jerk...but He didn't do it!
God created everything, including the electric chair (indirectly). If God didn't want us to have nukes, he would have prevented it.

Yeah - and we're discussion whether we support the current laws that allow or disallow the death penalty. I don't see your point here.

HE DID NOT MAKE IT! IF I toss the ingredients for a gun on the ground and someone makes the gun, I did not make it. Sheesh. If I only had a brain....

The Constitution and Bible both allow the death penalty to exist. :)

Invent according to http://www.merriam-webster.com:

1 archaic : FIND, DISCOVER
2 : to devise by thinking : FABRICATE
3 : to produce (as something useful) for the first time through the use of the imagination or of ingenious thinking and experiment

Survey says: you're wrong.

It's pretty bad logic that's for sure. An extension of his logic is God indirectly kills babies since God created all men and men came up with the idea to kill babies. There's a never ending degree of absurdity with this sort of extremism: such as God indrectly wants people to worship Satan or God indirectly wants people to get an abortion (God indirectly created the means). I think most people would find those arguments absurd.

Nope. God invented us and the materials needed to construct those things. Get it through your head.

By the way, the topic is the death penalty. It's here to stay, so deal with it.

And most people would think your pro-socialist and anti-religion comments are absurd. God indirectly allows those things to occur.

So, God's an evil jerk ochoseat? Gosh, you don't get it, do you. God made everything for a good purpose. Man, though, uses it for evil. Cain killed his brother with an improvised weapon, probably a club or something, I don't think it says what exactly.

Sounds like you don't get it. I'm sure God would approve us following his commandment by building objects to punish people who hurt us and send them where they belong.

The death penalty is supposed to be used only for murderers with at least two eyewitnesses, which would clear many people. People don't kill in large crowds. Second, God never said anything about devising torture devices. It only says to put them to death.

I'd much rather listen to what God says about Himself, rather than hear what you think God thinks. And for clarification, I'm half pro, half anti death penalty. If you get two witnesses to a murder, death penalty. If not, no.
