Lost ITunes Gift Card: Why I won't buy from Apple Computer
Carole, my wife, has a brain tumor. She has had it since 1996 and has dealt with it rather well, considering the radiation and chemo treatments. However, she has become forgetful and records her schedule in her calendar in order to make sure she keeps all her appointments. However, she tends to be somewhat disorganized with things. This December I ordered an ITunes gift card for my son Matthew. When it arrived, Carole put it in a "safe place with the other gifts." However, the week of Christmas, the card was nowhere to be found, even after hours of searching. I initially thought, "no problem." I am sure Apple will just cancel the card and send a replacement. Wrong!
Apple has no interest in replacing your gift card. Why should they? You paid for it and they have your money. When I called their customer service number they said that they kept no records of any gift cards (an obvious lie - how are they going to know how much you spend off it?). So, you are stuck. Thank you Apple!
Apple Computer,
Will I buy anything ever again from you? No way! You can keep my $50 and hopefully this page will insure that other people do likewise. There will be a price to be paid for not doing the right thing!
