Evidence for God from Science Newsletter November, 1999
Greetings in the name of the Lord! This is the latest edition of the update for the Evidence for God from Science website. Many new pages have been added in the last two months.
As a Christian, you have much to be thankful for. Join with me in giving thanks to God for all He has done. If you have a special story you would like to share with others about what God has done for you, write a short essay and submit it to this site. The 5 best essays will be featured on the site and the authors will be given a free Evidence for God from Science CD-ROM (see below).
Deadline for submission is December 13, 1999
Giving Thanks to God - A special "Thanksgiving" page.
Should Christians Celebrate Halloween? - alternatives to the Halloween/harvest parties
Jesus Christ - the Messiah of the Rabbinical Writers The charge is often made that the prophetic scriptures cited by the writers of the New Testament do not refer to the Messiah, but to other people, places, or events. However, this paper demonstrates that even the rabbinical writers recognized the messianic nature of these prophecies. Some of these writings are, of themselves prophetic, and contain prophecies not even found in the Old Testament scriptures. One stunning example is from the Sibylline Oracles, which were written during the period of 184-117 B.C.:
"And being beaten He shall be silent lest any one should know what the word is, or whence it came, that it may speak with mortals; and HE SHALL WEAR THE CROWN OF THORNS." Sibylline Oracles (B.C. 184-117)
Racism in the Bible? The claim is often made that the Bible is racist and that Christianity encourages racism. While there are people who claim the name of Christ and preach racist hatred in Christian churches, the Bible does not condone, but actually condemns this kind of behavior. This paper examines what the Bible actually says about racism (includes references to over 100 scriptures).
Two new pages have been added, in addition to updates to virtually every other page in the evolution department.
Implications of Evolution in Morality, Culture, and Society Evolutionists like to claim that evolutionary theory is independent of morality. However, evolution has profound implications in the areas of human worth, purpose, and morality:

The Evolution Pages:
Y2K - How Serious Will It Be? Updated information of the Year 2000 problem is available, including the latest NERC report on the September 9, 1999 contingency test (indicating that greater than 99% of all electrical utility remediation was completed by August 3, 1999). Get the latest on Y2K at Y2K - How Serious Will It Be? (revised November 16, 1999):
Updated resource list for Internet browsing. Both Netscape (Windows and Mac) and Internet Explorer (Windows only) have released updated versions of their browsers. Adobe has released, just this month, updated versions of their PDF Reader (both Windows and Mac). For Macintosh users, Aladdin Systems has just released an updated version of their popular Stuffit Expander (v. 5.5). Updated versions of all these Internet programs are available on the Evidence for God from Science CD-ROM.
Young Earth Creationism
A new department has been added as a result of inquiries about young earth scientific claims.
Is the Speed of Light Decreasing? - An analysis of the theoretical and observational flaws in the hypothesis that the speed of light was much faster in the past.
Is the Young-Earth Interpretation Biblical? - A young-earth interpretation of the creation account can be scripturally sound, but the prevalent young-earth interpretation is not.
Projects being worked on:
Creationary Model for the Universe and Life on Earth will be a
comprehensive model for the universe that fits both biblical accounts and
scientific data. It is a much-requested (by evolutionists) creationary
model. One of the most common complaints from evolutionists is that we
criticize evolution without providing a reasonable alternative. This page
will be an attempt to answer their charge.
Famous Scientists of Faith
All ways lead to God - An examination of this popular belief is shown to be logically impossible.
Evidence for God from Science CD-ROM
The Evidence CD-ROM is available and contains the entire website for Evidence for God from Science (over 10 MB) plus the original PowerPoint presentations (another 10 MB) that are not available on the website due to space limitations. In addition, the graphic novel from thebigquestion.com (10 MB) is included (an excellent apologetics resource, which will come out in print in a few months). As an added bonus, all the latest browsing (Netscape Communicator and Internet Explorer), viewing (MS Word Viewer, PowerPoint Viewer, Acrobat Reader, PostScript Viewer and PDF creator) and compression (Stuffit/Aladdin Expander, ZipIt, and WinZip) resources are available for both Windows (32 bit and 16 bit) and Macintosh (PPC and 68K).
